Description The Section of Psychological Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine seeks a clinical health psychologist with experience in psychogastroenterology to join an interdisciplinary team providing integrated outpatient services within a new and growing Digestive Health service line within the Yale New Haven Health. The psychologist will be a key member of the interdisciplinary team who provides and oversees the provision of psychosocial care for selected patients with gastrointestinal medical conditions, specifically functional gastrointestinal disorders and motility disorders. The psychologist will work alongside gastroenterologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, and dieticians with expertise in gastroenterology to provide direct patient care, including comprehensive diagnostic and neuropsychological evaluations, biopsychosocial assessments and treatment as indicated. The psychologist will also participate in the development of the Digestive Health service line’s behavioral health care delivery model. The position carries a full-time faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor within the Department of Psychiatry in the Psychological Medicine Section and includes participation in the Department’s APA-accredited Doctoral Psychology Internship Program. The Psychological Medicine Section consists of traditional and proactive psychiatric consult services on medical and surgical inpatient units and 14 integrated psychiatry and behavioral health programs in diverse medical and surgical outpatient settings. The Digestive Health service line was developed in 2019 in a partnership between Yale New Haven Health and Yale School of Medicine.
