The Department of Psychology at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in clinical/counseling, cognitive, developmental, health/addiction, industrial-organizational, or social psychology. The successful candidate will be part of the first cohort of tenure-track faculty hired for the Palm Desert branch campus of CSUSB. The position begins in September, 2019.
CSUSB is located in San Bernardino in the Inland Empire, 60 miles east from Los Angeles. The University operates a satellite campus in Palm Desert located in Coachella Valley. The Palm Desert Campus offers bachelor's and master's degrees, a doctorate in educational leadership, and teacher credentials and certificates. With more than 1,400 students, it is the Coachella Valley's four-year public university and plays a vital role in educating and training the region's growing population. The newly hired faculty member would be one of the first tenure-track faculty members hired for the Palm Desert Campus and would belong to a well-established and highly regarded psychology department at CSUSB with 37 full-time faculty and over 20 adjunct faculty.

Typical Activities

We seek candidates with proven teaching ability who could offer a general set of undergraduate courses in psychology such as Introductory Psychology, Psychological Statistics, Research Methods, Learning and Motivation, History and Systems, Cognitive Psychology, and Biological Psychology, along with courses within the area of their Ph.D. Candidates must exhibit research potential as evidenced by engaging in publishable research in their area of expertise, and possess the capability to attract and mentor students in their research area. Minimum Qualifications

A Ph.D. in an area of psychology is expected at the time of appointment. Qualified candidates will have the ability to teach students of diverse cultural backgrounds.
