Research Assistant / Associate in Psychology
University of Cambridge
United Kingdom

The emotional cognition lab at the University of Cambridge (https://dt492.user.srcf.net/) is looking to recruit a research associate/assistant to support the project titled "How does emotional/motivational salience modulates episodic memory recall", funded jointly by the Isaac Newton Trust, Wellcome Trust ISSF, and they University of Cambridge Joint Research Grants Scheme.

The successful applicant will contribute to the design and implementation of a research programme testing the predictions of a computational model of memory (Talmi et al., Psychological Review, 2019). Working in close collaboration with Dr Talmi, they will have an opportunity to further develop their theoretical understanding of memory and experimental design skills, as well as gain experience in collecting and analysing behavioural and electrophysiological data. This may also involve telephone and/or online testing. Applicants with a computational background will be able to engage more extensively with the computational modelling strand of the research.

Applicants should have a PhD or Masters and/or First Degree together with a strong academic track record in the experimental psychology of human memory and cognitive neuroscience more broadly. They should be able to demonstrate extensive experience in shaping, implementing and disseminating own research projects in the context of their degree work to date. Experience working in a neuroimaging laboratory (especially EEG) is highly desirable and good IT skills, including a command of Matlab, are essential.

Please be aware that present circumstances may dictate various periods of home-working, but that the candidate should be available for office-based work in Cambridge.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 28 February 2022 in the first instance.
