DescriptionThe University of Chicago's Department of Neurobiology is searching for a Research Assistant Professor whose primary activity will be academic research in association with a faculty member or team. The appointee will be responsible for designing and implementing behavioral-neurophysiological experiments using trained, behaving non-human primates to understand the neuronal mechanisms underlying visual attention. The position entails collecting and analyzing large datasets, writing manuscripts, and applying for grants both as a member of the larger team and independently. The appointee will ultimately create an independent research effort with dedicated extramural funding that complements existing strengths within our academic community. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) depends on qualifications. Prior to the start of employment, applicants must 1) have a doctoral degree or equivalent in Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline and 2) have completed postdoctoral training.
Publication record and ability to obtain extramural grants will be considered.
