DescriptionThe Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of neuroanatomy and translational neuroscience studies of human brain pathology of neurodegenerative disorders. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree. Research or scholarship responsibilities may include leading a translational research program focused on neuroanatomical studies of human brain tissue in frontotemporal dementia and associated neurodegenerative disorders. Main responsibilities including supervising and conducting novel research, publishing peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts in high impact journals, presenting data at scientific meetings and maintaining a funding portfolio of NIH and other public/private funding sources to perform translational research. Teaching responsibilities may include annual lectures on neuroanatomic and cytoarchitectural features of neurodegenerative disease to neurology residents, medical students and research staff.
