Research Assistant in Psychology
University of Cambridge
United Kingdom

The Applied Social Science Group within the Primary Care Unit at the University of Cambridge are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated research assistant to a project that explores the contribution of mental health challenges and contextual adversities to young people's outcomes.

We are looking for someone with a desire to influence policy and practice for children and families through research. Good communication skills and some previous experience using quantitative methods would be beneficial for the role (e.g., undergraduate research project).

The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive team, led by Professor Robbie Duschinsky. This team includes clinicians from various professions (e.g. clinical psychology, general practice, social work) and researchers from across disciplines (e.g. primary care research, epidemiology, sociology, psychology).

The postholder will be well supported in their professional development, with opportunities for developing skills and knowledge. The Investigators will work with the postholder to develop a bespoke training and development plan that will focus on the skills and experience they need to make the most of the opportunities afforded by the project and to progress their career. This can include attending lectures, receiving training from colleagues, or external training/events. The postholder will also be supported to pursue subsequent opportunities relevant to their future career development.

The post's responsibilities can be fulfilled largely through remote working in the UK, though there will be some in-person responsibilities associated with work in particular locations required when accessing sensitive datasets.

The funds for these posts are available until 30 April 2027.

This is a full-time position but we welcome applications of no less than 80% FTE per week.
