We are seeking a highly motivated, responsible, and professional research assistant to assist in all aspects of a large, federally-funded, longitudinal clinical trial examining responses to alcohol consumption and the development of alcohol use disorder (AUD). This is a full-time position with benefits in the Psychology Department at Carnegie Mellon University.

Major responsibilities will include helping to do the following: recruit and schedule research participants, run community participants through sensitive research procedures (including alcohol administration protocols and structured clinical interviews to diagnose AUD; training will be provided), prepare materials for research studies, perform video and audio recording assessments, program ecological momentary assessment surveys and monitor incoming data, train undergraduate research assistants, code video data using Ekman’s Facial Action Coding System (FACS; training will be provided), input data, analyze data, track participants for follow-up sessions, attend lab meetings, maintain lab rooms/supplies/equipment, and prepare manuscripts. Because this position involves observational coding using FACS, experience in this area is desired but not required.
