Research Assistants for research on the psychology of olfaction (3 temporary employments)

 

at the Department of Psychology. Closing date: 30 November 2019.

 

The Department of Psychology is a diverse and creative workplace for education and research in Psychology. Each semester, over 1000 students are enrolled in our courses that range from introductory level to advanced graduate level.

 

Main responsibilities
The Sensory Cognitive Interaction Laboratory (SCI-LAB) is a leading research group which consists of about a dozen members and is led by Professor Jonas Olofsson. We are seeking three new members to assist us in various tasks related to research projects on the psychology of olfaction. The work involves recruiting and testing participants for research studies, constructing surveys, and processing data using statistical software packages. The work you will do includes conducting experimental studies on olfaction, the sense of smell, running online survey studies, recruiting participants, and collecting data. The research studies often involve the use of hardware/devices for presenting odors to participants, Additionally, Virtual Reality and neuroimaging techniques (EEG and fMRI) may be used. Administrative tasks such as documentation, and data processing, are also included in the work tasks.

 

Qualification requirements
We are looking for applicants who are orderly and thorough, are interested in an academic carreer, and who work well as part of a team. Applicants should have experience in statistical processing using designated software packages, have good social skills, be engaged in their work, and be able to work independently. Experience in administrative work, as well as psychological or neuroscience research and education, constitute further merits.

 

Terms of employment
Employment is on a full-time basis (100%), is time limited to December 31 2020, and hires will start at earliest convenience. Stockholm University practices setting salaries on an individual level.
