Research Associate (Audiologist), 2 Vacancies

The NUS Master of Science (Audiology) programme conducts research in all aspects of hearing
and balance health. The current project is a partnership between NUS, NUH and SGH. The
research relates to the identification, evaluation and remediation of hearing loss in Singapore
seniors. The research proposes to develop and implement new methods of testing hearing that
can be applied in community settings instead of in hospitals. As part of the study, two satellite
hearing clinics will be established in which the new hearing evaluation systems will be tested to
determine their effectiveness and potential for long-term implementation in Singapore.

We are looking for an audiologist to support research activities by NUS Audiology Research Team
and collaborating partners.
Job description for Research Associate (Audiologist):
Performing clinical and prototype hearing test protocols according to the project’s
objectives, including the provision of hearing rehabilitation services.
Overall involvement in accurately monitoring, documenting and reporting research
findings, including but not limited to the management of information and/or duties related
to setting up of satellite clinics.
Support on logistics, inventory and equipment planning, and other duties as assigned.
Responsible for data collection, management and analysis.
Provide assistance in report preparation.
Perform assigned duties at different locations as the project develops.
Document and communicate project’s requirements to appropriate personnel
and maintain confidentiality of information.

Possess a Master’s degree in Audiology with an aptitude for research. Capacity to perform
study protocols under the general guidance of the Principal Investigator, Co-investigators
and Implementation leads.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills in audiology related to assessment and identification,
management and treatment, and prevention and education.
Ability to accurately monitor, document and report research findings at the University and
collaborating locations.
Skills in data collection, management and analysis; assist in report preparation; and
contribute to the start-up of satellite clinics.
A good team player with approachable character, positive attitude and strong ownership
of assigned duties.
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
Meticulous, organized and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Compassionate, proactive and resourceful.
Strong sense of responsibility and commitment.
Willing to take up duties that will be carried out at different locations.
Willing to work outside office hours, when necessary.

Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the candidate.
