Research Associate in Child Mental Health Service
University of Cambridge
United Kingdom

This is an exciting opportunity to join a mature research programme evaluating i-THRIVE, a child mental health service (CAMHS) transformation programme across England. The post is based at University of Cambridge, and works in collaboration with UCL and the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families. i-THRIVE is an evidence-based implementation approach supporting sites adopting the THRIVE Framework, a popular new model for delivering CAMHS. You will be involved in analysis and write up of a range of mixed-method studies. The position would suit a researcher who has been awarded their PhD or recently submitted; with a sound knowledge of mental health services for children and young people delivered through the NHS and excellent analysis and writing skills. You will ideally have experience of implementation science or health services research.

Experience of both quantitative analyses of health services data and qualitative research is preferred. The study has been designed in alignment with the MRC's guidelines for evaluating complex systems and the idea candidate will be aware of these and understand how they are applied. You will have experience of writing up research papers according to journal specifications and can work to tight deadlines. Under supervision of the co-PIs, you will be responsible for some analyses, liaising with collaborators, and submitting papers. You will ideally have sound knowledge of the CAMHS delivered through the NHS in the UK demonstrated by previous clinical work and/or research roles. Knowledge of NHS data systems and care pathways in particular would be an advantage.

There will also be an opportunity to use the datasets to develop further applications, led by the successful candidate, such as Post-doctoral fellowships or grants, supervised by Dr. Moore and Prof. Fonagy. Further information on the datasets are included in the Further Particulars.

You must be willing to work from home and liaise with team members remotely, although face to face meetings would also be welcomed, when possible. This role is offered on a flexible arrangement on a full-time or part-time basis, from a minimum of 0.6 FTE.
