Job Summary:
The Research Operations Administrator will provide vital support for multiple scientific projects within the Department of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University. The role ensures smooth execution of daily research activities through exceptional administrative oversight and effective communication with project team members and stakeholders. Responsibilities include identifying and implementing improvements to systems and processes to enhance team effectiveness. Advanced candidates may take on more complex project tasks, contribute to the establishment of project goals and deliverables, and assist in supervising research staff. This position requires strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and drive project success in a dynamic research environment.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA)

  • One year of related experience

  • Proven professionalism, initiative, and collegiality

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail

  • Skilled in accurate and organized record-keeping and reporting

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word

  • Comfortable with digital tools including cloud-based platforms, collaborative applications (Google Workspace, Slack), and research databases

  • Familiarity with IRB procedures, grant reporting, and academic publishing workflows

  • Basic understanding of programming environments (Python, R) and version control tools (GitHub)

  • Experience in online digital marketing

Helpful Qualifications:

  • Experience managing comprehensive data workflows, including participant data tracking, secure file management, and reproducible research practices

  • Background or familiarity in psychology, cognitive science, or related behavioral sciences

  • Experience contributing to research projects involving artificial intelligence, machine learning, or conversational agents
