DescriptionThe Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of signal analysis and neuromodulation. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Responsibilities may include the management and oversight of protocol development, data collection, signal analysis, and manuscript preparation associated with existing clinical research efforts exploring the safety, feasibility, and therapeutic impact of open- and closed-loop Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) for movement and non-movement disorders. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to participate in clinical trials, grant writing, regulatory affairs and FDA interactions, work with industry partners, and mentor students.
