Salary
£31406 to £40927 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The School of Psychology, University of Nottingham, UK is looking to appoint a full-time Postdoctoral Associate to work with Professor Stephen Jackson and colleagues. The postdoc will contribute to an MRC-funded research project using multimodal brain imaging techniques to investigate the neural antecedents of tics and the brain correlates of the urge-to-tic in Tourette syndrome. 

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will have completed a PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or a closely related discipline, possess a high level of intrinsic motivation, and have proven expertise and a strong publication record that includes advanced EEG/MEG analysis methods, advanced functional MRI analysis methods, and strong technical skills. The ability to code using PsychoPy, Matlab, R, Python, and expertise in the use of neuroimaging analysis programmes such as SPM or FSL would be especially valued. 

Information about the research environment

The University of Nottingham hosts the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre (SPMIC) which is a world-leading MR imaging centre with a track record of developing high-field MR. The SPMIC is equipped with multiple 3T human MR scanners, a Philips 7T human MR scanner, a CTF cryogenic MEG system, and hosts a novel optically-pumped magnetometer (OPM) MEG system. The University of Nottingham also hosts the Beacon of Excellence in Precision Imaging which is a large and vibrant interdisciplinary grouping of basic and clinical scientists conducting imaging research or research using imaging techniques.

This full time role is available on a fixed term basis until 30 April 2024. Job share arrangements may be considered.
