About These Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Research Fellow to join our prestigious School of Psychology to support high quality research in the fields of body image, eating disorders and related issues.

 

In this role, you will support the group lead, Professor Gemma Sharp, with a range of projects focused on body image and eating disorders, and more specifically, projects involving digital health and online interventions to support people experiencing eating disorders, their support people and treating health professionals.

 

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:  

  • Research: Starting to establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, participate in applications for competitive research funding and publish in reputable journals.

  • Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students and provide performance feedback, mentoring and training

  • Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, engage in internal and external service roles and committees, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values. 

 

This opportunity is being offered at Academic Level A or Level B commensurate with the successful candidates’ skills and experience, in accordance with the University's Criteria for Academic Performance.

About You 

At Academic Level A:

  • Completion or near completion (i.e. have submitted thesis for examination) of a PhD in Psychology or a related area.

  • An emerging profile in research in Psychology or a related area.

  • Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.

  • Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding.

  • Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions towards external activities.

 

In addition, at Academic Level B:

  • Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding.

  • A growing record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.
