OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

The Translational Center for Stress Related Research is looking for a highly motivated person for research related to understanding the mechanisms that contribute to psychiatric stress disorders. This position requires a candidate that is flexible and can function in a high-paced environment and be willing to learn new techniques. The applicant must be detail-oriented, well-organized, and must be able to manage multiple and changing priorities as needed to move experiments forward. Excellent communication skills are required for this team-based laboratory environment

Work Performed

Molecular biological techniques including DNA and RNA isolation; RT-PCR, protein assays
Prepare reagents and solutions
Manage laboratory databases/data entry
Maintain laboratory equipment and scheduled maintenance
Manage laboratory purchases, lab organization/cleaning

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Work requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology,psychology or other directly related scientific field.
Experience

None required above education/training requirement.OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

PREFERRED EDUCATION/TRAINING

Education/Training:

Work requires a bachelor’s degree in biology or other directly related scientific field. Experience in cell culture techniques is desirable. Background in neuroscience research preferred.
