About These Opportunities

Our prestigious School of Psychology is seeking experienced Lecturers or Senior Lecturers to join their dedicated academic teaching team.

 

The School aims to canvass the potential field of applicants widely and seeks to attract, among others, applicants with expertise in prevention, cognitive or social determinants of health, mental health across the lifespan as well as in mental health in diverse areas of life (e.g., organisational, community, clinical settings).

 

The School currently has multiple full-time, continuing, Teaching and Research focused positions available for the right candidates. These opportunities are being offered at Academic Level B or Level C commensurate with the successful candidates’ skills and experience.

 

In these roles, you will develop, coordinate and deliver blended learning curriculum and innovative assessment for courses within the School. This will include preparation and delivery of lectures and tutorials, coordination and leadership of tutors, and management of course assessment and marking.

 

As a Lecturer (Level B), you will have the opportunity to further your expertise and growing profile in teaching, research and service and engagement. At this level, you may coordinate the activities of other staff and contribute to the effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students and, as a Teaching and Research academic, you will aspire to achieve national recognition in your field of research.

 

As a Senior Lecturer (Level C), you will be able to leverage your established record of achievement in teaching (including clinical teaching, where appropriate), research and service and engagement. At this level, you will lead the activities of other staff and will have an active and effective record of supervising Higher Degree by Research students successfully to completion as principal supervisor.  As a Teaching and Research academic, you will achieve national recognition and have a developing international profile in your field of research.

What We Can Offer

The greater benefits of joining the UQ community are broad: from being part of a Group of Eight university, to recognition of prior service with other Australian universities, up to 26 weeks of paid parental leave, 17.5% annual leave loading, flexible working arrangements including hybrid on site/WFH options and flexible start/finish times, and genuine career progression opportunities via the academic promotions process.

 

At Academic Level B, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $108,201 - $128,201, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $126,595 - $149,996 annually. 

 

At Academic Level C, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $132,201 - $152,202, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $154,676 - $178,076 annually. 

 

As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.
