If so, then you should consider joining the Advanced Practitioner in psychological wellbeing training team at Surrey.

As a result of the imminent departure of the programme lead to move abroad we have a 0.6 FTE vacancy. This post oversees the development and delivery of the programme to ensure it meets the British Psychological Society’s accreditation requirements, the national IAPT teams training agenda and the local commissioner and service provider needs. This requires strategic thinking, excellent communication and negotiation skills a proactive approach to emerging changes to the IAPT agenda. The post will also oversee other colleagues on the team supporting the development of appropriate clinical placements through regular meetings and supervision training.

The programme is long established with 11 years’ experience of providing this professional training. Previously the programme has received commendations for innovative practice from the BPS  and is due for reaccreditation in January 2020The team are committed to novel approaches to teaching and learning to prepare graduates from the programme for clinical practice. Employers have provided excellent testimonies on the quality, motivation and creativity of the newly qualified practitioners leaving the programme.

This programme alongside the PG Diploma in psychological interventions (CBT) are a central element of the applied psychology teaching in the Department. We actively encourage interdisciplinary work and have many cross-discipline links.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a creative and collegiate approach to Psychology, and we welcome applicants who are confident in their leadership and clinical competence. Applicants who hold qualifications necessary to practice as a primary wellbeing practitioner, a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist or a Counselling or Clinical psychologist would be encouraged to apply.
