University Lecturer

Applications are invited for a University Lectureship in the Department of Psychology. This post is in association with a Fellowship at Lucy Cavendish College. The post is available from 1st April 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.


Applicants should have expertise in one or more of the areas of cognitive and behaviour genetics, social perception/neuroscience, developmental affective neuroscience/psychology and computational/quantitative approaches to human cognition. The successful candidate will be qualified to PhD level and have a proven academic record in their subject together with evidence for delivering teaching at university level in one of the listed areas.


Standard duties for a University Lecturer include teaching and research, examining, supervision and administration. College duties involves a minimum of 4 hours per week supervising undergraduate students for the Psychological and Behavioural Science Tripos.


It is an occupational requirement for the successful applicant to be female because the post holder will also hold a Fellowship with Lucy Cavendish College, which is a strong and diverse intellectual community uniquely for women committed to widening women's participation in higher education. This is permitted under Schedule 9, part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.


The post is based in central Cambridge (Downing site and Lucy Cavendish College).
